Best hotels & accommodations in Central Delhi

I had the great pleasure of staying at the Lalit for two nights in June. It actually was my 5th time staying there. The location in central Delhi is very convenient, the rooms are extremely attractive and comfortable (the beds are HEAVENLY!), the food is excellent, (especially the awesome breakfast) and the service is outstanding. While all of the members of the staff ...

Staying in this hotel is always a pleasure, the location is good for central Delhi, and the rooms are clean and spacious. I have stayed in various hotels in Delhi this one has some excellently trained and helpful staff. The only downside would be the fact that there's only one restaurant, although the food is varied and quite tasty, the restaurant staff are quite slow ...

The Claridges is an upmarket hotel, an oasis in Delhi, but probably best suited to an older more mature guest. We found it very hard to find good quality and reasonable accommodation in Delhi, so we had to up our spend to get the quality we required. The hotel is well cared for, the staff extremely polite (perhaps too much (meaning there's little space for character ...

The Leela Palace maintains it's number one status in New Delhi for a reason. From the time that you enter into the hotel, until you leave you are treated exquisitely. While there is much that has already been said about the hotel, I would like to mention just a few of my favorite things that the hotel offers. First: do take advantage of the pool. You are greeted there ...

Overall, the Hans Hotel is a great place to stay. The location is quite central (near Connaught Place and the main New Delhi train station but away from the dreadful Paharganj Area), the facilities are clean, the staff is professional. The stay includes a nice breakfast buffet (try the fresh parathe (layered flaky flatbread) with mango chutney - you have to order the...

I stayed in the Park New Delhi Hotel during 5 days and I really appreciated the quality of the whole place and the services. The rooms are arranged in a very tastful way that makes us feel home. The breakfast is of very good quality, generous and full of fantasy! The ambiance of the bar and the swimming pool make us totally forget that we are in the centre of New Delhi...

We really enjoyed our stay, it is a shame the hotel had not mentioned the metro ine renovation as it made walking around the immediate area difficult. It is a traditional 5* hotel, the level of service from all staff is on a different level and the decor and history of ht place make it second to none for a place to stay in central Delhi.

i have stayed at palace heights on four occasions in the past year and i have never been disappointed by the quality of the service. the welcome is warm, caring and thoroughly efficient from the moment ones arrives. rooms are tastefully designed in a modern fashion, good size for central delhi, with full features like minibar, fruit bowl, tea and coffee making faciliti...

Really good, central location and very helpful staff. An easy walk to the metro, and to the Bengali Market, for supplies - and an ATM that usually has some cash. Ate in room/restaurant a couple of nights, and the food was delicious. Still a bit of building work in progress, and quite near a railway line, so if it's perfect peace you're after . . . well, you should prob...

Good value for money. The hotel is modernly designed, which could be the best design in Delhi. The is is of no doubt comfortable and nice-furnished. However, the glass window could be cleaned more frequently as there were stains and marks on it. The lighting at the room was warm and could intelligently controlled on the penal. The breakfast was more than great and t...

my and my friends from canada stayed in this fine hotel for 5 days the hotel is centrally located, not very expensive and above all the service is wonderful. ther is a travel desk who will give you all the help and information for city tours and will arrange a tour to agra to see tajmahal. you can go by train, bus or private car. breakfast is usually included if you...

Overall, our stay at the Diplomat was average. The staff is friendly and courteous. The rooms of average. The amenities are somewhat modern. The bathroom is a bit lacking. The food is decent but very, very overpriced. The hotel is safe. Yet, for our week stay at the Diplomat, there was a continual smell of gas (petroleum, not farts) that was headache inducing. We could...

This property could not have a better location. If you want central this is as central as you get. Although right in the midst of it all it is also very quiet and has a great cafe below. The staff are amazing and will do absolutely anything for you. I own a hotel myself and have stayed in many in Delhi over the years, but this tops them all. Not only were the smiles an...

We picked this hotel based on its proximity to the convention center Pragati Maidan, and in fact, we have walked back from the event every evening, saving lots of time by avoiding the chaotic traffic jams of New Delhi. The rooms were quite large and well equipped, room service was good and the staff attentive. We dined at the hotel and had dinner at the hotel, which wa...

i have stayed in many such hotels all accross new delhi, but this is simply the best. polite and couteous staff, location is superb, extremely comfortable beds, very neat and clean hotel. breakfast was awesome specially the paratha. you can be mistaken for a 5 star hotel once you step into this hotel, however, the entarnce was lill doggy but passby that and you into a ...

After several weeks of bad hotels in India La Sagrita was an absolute relief. It's a modern and clean hotel with very comfortable rooms. The bathroom is wonderful. It's location is central but taxi's (arranged by the hotel) are required. The restaurant is not great and should be addressed - not many food options around. The manager is grumpy (like all other managers in...

Price wise this place is ok especially for the location which is central to New Delhi shopping and transport. This is more towards to upper end of the budget market and in comparison to Delhi hotel prices this is reasonable even though rooms don't have attached toilets. The restaurant food is good.

Great value. So much nicer than any Delhi 4-5 star hotel. Rooms fully equipped and functional. Fantastic service, professional and non-invasive. And...reliable & honest - often rare commodities in India. Situated in a pretty, peaceful and cleaner part of New Delhi. Close to Lodhi gardens & other interesting attractions if desired. 40 min to airport - transfer very af...

We stayed in The W in February 2013 during our stay in Delhi area. The hotel is a boutique hotel which takes place on the last floor of a 3 floors building. (The first floor it's some office, and the second floor has a bar, but no noise). The hotel is renovated, rooms are clean, comfortable bed, great WIFI, hot shower- great value. The location is great as well, clo...

Possibly oneof the best places tostay ina hectic placelike new Delhi. Located in a very nice & quiet area and its just astone throw away from the humayun’s tomb. Rooms are so comfy with great sense of space. Heaps of art works and artefactsto be admited. Lots of treeesand plants in the vicinity makingit very soothing. Food is excellent but book in advance. Service from...

A comfortable abode in a more upscale location for Delhi, serving a good breakfast. A bit noisy in road facing rooms but quiet in the others. Westernised Cafe Turtle is close-by and is good to go to for coffee or for light evening meals. What's best is that the owner Eleven Ajay Anand is a nice guy and really helpful with information and getting things organised like b...

I was exceptionally well looked after by the staff. The room was spacious, clean and if not luxurious at least well appointed for a hotel of this category in central Delhi. Excellent feature is continuously available Wifi connection for which there is no charge. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a short stay for anyone wanting reasonably priced comfor...

Extremely helpful people there. I had the wrong day booked and they accepted this. I will respect them forever for this ! It is in the best location in Delhi and for this price great. Room was very simple and not a place you would like to hangout to much. Poor breakfast but next door they do the best Indian food you can dream of for breakfast, lunch and diner ( Haldira...

My friend and I loved staying at the Alka Hotel, it is conveniently located in Delhi, close to three metro stations including the airport line and many delicious and well known restraunts aNd a short auto rickshaw ride to places like India Gate, the Art Gallery, Lodhi Gardens etc. The staff go out of their way to assist you.

in the description , the location specified ( in city center ). However, after my booking was made . The actual location is located at boundary of New Delhi (60mins metro ride )plus 10mins walking time. Therefore, I have to book another hotel.

We just had a single night in Delhi on our way back to Europe and wanted a central location. The Bright is right on Connaught Circle, M Block. Entrance to the Metro is just outside the door and there are quite a few restaurants and bars just a few steps away from the hotel (turning left on leaving the hotel entrance). The exterior entrance to the hotel is dismal. But t...

Really interesting 1930s (?) hotel with a brand new wing; about 1hr to Delhi Int airport, taxi ride can be arranged by reception to view sights in Delhi. Friendly staff. Yellow Brick Road is great for casual dining (there are no other food outlets nearby) if a little pricey.

With a stay of 12 days in Delhi planned to move to Lodi Colony area after 6 days, but Connaught Mews was so good decided to stay put. Staff are outstanding, friendly, helpful and so cheerful. As a solo female traveller made me feel very much at home. Thank you all and see you later in the year.

We stayed at La Sagrita both at the beginning and end of our vacation in India. The hotel arranged for a cab to pick us up at 3 a.m. and late arrival was no problem. The hotel is in a very exclusive, leafy neighborhood in South/Central Delhi. It was easy to walk to the end of the street and grab a tuk tuk to any location. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful...

More about Central Delhi
At the center of everything is India Gate, a war memorial built in the 1920s. It’s on a grassy lawn with broad, leafy avenues radiating in each direction. The gate is joined by Dhyan Chang National Stadium and the National Museum. Many tourists walk due west from the gate to Rashtrapati Bhavan (the presidential estate), taking in the red sandstone architecture along the way.
There are a few other must-sees that draw crowds of tourists every day. Mughal sites like Humayun’s Tomb and Safdarjung’s Tomb are elegant and well worth the attention they receive. Another major Mughal site is the Old Fort, where Humayun began his own contributions to Delhi. It’s best to take these sites in slowly, avoiding the hottest hours of the day. In between, sightseers spend time relaxing in parks like Buddha Garden, Nehru Park, Indraprastha Park, Mahavir Jayanti Park or even at Delhi Zoo.
Accommodation in Central Delhi centers on the city’s leisure facilities. There is a famous golf club south of India Gate, but most of the entertainment infrastructure is to the north. This includes Connaught Place, a shopping plaza that was founded by the British but has evolved with New Delhi. Other modern facilities include Pragati Maidan, an exhibition hall with an active events schedule, along with Talkotara and Jawahar Lal Nehru stadiums.
Getting around Central Delhi is an exciting experience that involves the metro, taxis and the occasional rickshaw. Onward southbound travelers connect through Hazrat Nizammudin Railway Station, which is the most prominent station in the area.
