Milan hotels & places to stay

The majority of reviews on Agoda say that for a quick stay, this is the go-to hotel which provides a comfortable stay/service/access to get around town. My mother and I dreaded the almost unanimous "small bathroom" comment, but decided to forgo the fact and ended up booking our stay there anyway. Arriving in Milan, we immediately got into a taxi and asked to be taken to Hotel Galles (most taxi drivers know exactly where it is). Once we got to the hotel we were welcomed by friendly and efficient receptionists who have great command of English. I didn't have any problem understanding them and they spoke very clearly to us. We were then taken to our room. So, the bathroom thing is true: it is very small even by Asian standards. We were able to squeeze ourselves just fine and went about our business easily, but we would have loved it more if the bathroom was a little bit bigger. It is worth saying that when I was confused about which train to take to get from Milan to Paris, the hotel staff helpfully printed out a list of train schedules for me to choose from (and highlighted the most efficient routes). Anyhoo, in our experience, the hotel could use a few improvements, but we had a great time and would definitely return. Although, yes, Hotel Galles is probably best for a short / weekend getaway type of stay. Oh, don't forget there are a few bookstores and music stores down the road from the hotel on Corso Buenos Aires -- they have great selection of English books and Italian music/movies! And for Asians looking for a taste from "home", there's a great Korean restaurant on the corner of Corso Buenos Aires about a block from the hotel -- at the intersection where Zara is situated, with the hotel to your right, turn left. A few doors from there you'll find a great Korean BBQ dig which serves amazing Korean food! Anyway, good stuff! Godetevi il vostro soggiorno!

This hotel was the best thing that happned to us. First, service provided was amazing! Ludovica at the reception desk provided us with the best, five star welcome, check in and concierge information. I would note that she is amazing in her job and hotel should reward her for that. Another two receptionist were exceptional. Stephano and can't remember the other guy's name Gian-Luca at the restaurant is exceptional as well restaurant lady, Lordes. Hotel is older, renovated, extremely well kept, excellent location right on Metro station, five minute walk from beautiful park, 15 minute walk to Duomo, you can also rent a bike, Milano is very biking friendly city. There is a super market half block away and some shopping around, H&M, Guess, cafes.. Nice area. All in all, amazing prperty, and Ludivica was THE BEST of the best!! Our family visited Uptown Palace Hotel in Milan, Italy. We had a great experience! Our family of four stayed in a beautiful executive suite that had a view of the gorgeous Duomo Cathedral. Despite the construction cranes hard at work, we had a very beautiful view of the city in our corner position on the 11th floor of the hotel. The front desk staff, quickly explained how easy it was for us to park our rental car in a nearby car park and then walk to the City Centre. Very easy to do! All in all, the hotel was clean, modern and very comfortable. After a long day of touring, we retired to the hotel to enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant which was delicious and presented in a very traditional Italian way. Due to this positive experience, we decided to enjoy the complementary breakfast the next morning. This meal was even better than dinner! Despite the dining chairs which need to be replaced, we found the atmosphere and staff to be very conducive to a relaxing vacation! We would recommend to a friend and will be back.

One might think, walking in, that because the hotel is so very original -- some might say funky -- that it would be odd as well in its services. No. A second glance will tell you -- the seemingly scattershot oddness of the decor is in fact impeccably designed -- and if you stay there for a week, as I did, you will find that the services are exceptional. In addition, I love the neighborhood. If you are looking for the Milan of high fashion, La Scala, etc don't stay here -- or be prepared to take public transportation (good in Milan) or taxis. For me, the neighborhood of the Navigli made me love Milan on this, my fourth trip here. Every bit of it feels like the Italy one dreams of and not the cold commercial city Milan can seem to be. And the surprise of seeing the canals at night, lit up, filled with people, restaurants, strolling --this is something special, as is the hotel.

I have stayed one night in Hotel Atlantic and would definitely stay again and highly recommended to everyone who travel to Milan. We are on honeymoon and first time to Milan. Hotel is convenient & perfectly located opposite Milano Centrale train station which is only 5 mins walking. Special compliments to the reception staff name ROBERT, who is very warm welcoming, very helpful and friendly. Checking in was easy, we have arrived early by 11am, the room is not ready, however he helping us to keep the luggage and sent it directly to the room when the room is ready which is wonderful. He also very attentive and patiently show us the attractions and shopping area clearly which is great really make it easy for out short trip. He notice that we are on honeymoon and have send us the greetings card with complimentary fruits plate which make us feel sweet and surprise. Room is great, quiet, big and nicely, modern-decorated with all standard amenities and a large LCD TV. The bathroom is clean, spacious and nice. The bed is so comfortable it was a good sleep night. They free wifi is fast which is good. I had a relatively good rate for a double room which is a good value for money for Milano standards compare to the hotel nearby. There is one convenient store just opposite the hotel and there many restaurants nearby ie: McDonalds, italian foods, chinese restaurant, bar and etc. Overall is a pleasant stayed and would definitely come back again.

just got back from a 1 night stay at the echo. pros: newly renovated, clean, friendly staff. location can't be beat, right across street from milan central train station with a metro stop, lots of services located in station. full breakfast included, though coffee service a bit slow. slow service was typical across italy (we had the same experience in france). cons: no free wifi! actually, you get 30 minutes free in the lobby. come on starhotels, this is a 4 star "business" hotel, get on board and provide unlimited free wifi, at least in the lobby. rooms are on the smaller side and the bathrooms are very tight for two people. the shower was tiny, and the glass door to the bathroom lights up the entire bedroom, possibly disturbing others sleeping. no english tv channels, in fact, most of the time, our tv didn't work. i'd stay here again just for location and that it's renovated so everything is new and fresh. we didn't get the grand opening sale price but it was one of the more reasonably priced hotels in milan.

This was probably one of the highlights of our one night stay in Milan. Hotel Berna was easy to find, in a great location right next to Central Station and conveniently located next to a restaurant with great service. The room was spacious and clean, front desk attendants were friendly, and we enjoyed the breakfast buffet with soooo many options. We’d definitely stay here again when we take more time to enjoy the beauties of Milan.

If you are visiting Milan and would like to be in the best shopping place in Italy , then this hotel is just perfect. In less than 2 minutes walking you can be in Duomo. I stayed with my wife for 3 nights in room 141 which was far from the elevators. We visited Milan just for shopping as this period was in the winter sale period where you get 30 to 50 per cent off marked prices. So we were all day shopping for us and for our kids back home, and when we come back to hotel , we arrive very tired and just go to sleep. We really didn't test the hospitality of hotel Rosa but breakfast was very good with a good selection of food items. Two points I want to draw your attention to which worth knowing: 1) Internet is free in the lobby area and costs 6 Euros for 24 hours if you are using an iPad or similar tablet and costs 8 Euros if you are using a laptop. This is so cheap in Italy. 2) parking in the area is very expensive. The hotel charges you 50 Euros a night. But you can park in a nearby parking garage for 31 euros in 24 hrs. I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Milan for pleasure and needs to be in the Duomo area.

Milan was the last leg of our Italy 10 days tour and it ended off our trip very well. The bed was a great retreat for our tired bodies after many days of train rides and walks. And it was very easy to find. It's really just out of the Milan Centro train station and across the road. Most conveniently, when we needed to go to the Malpensa airport, there are many shuttle buses leaving every 10-15min, outside the train stations. Even with our huge backpacks, it was a breeze because we have so many to choose from and it's very cheap! 10euros per head. The bed was comfortable, facilities are great. They have a ipod charging device which is a speaker as well. Their toilet facilities are very good. If only their bathtub can have the doors fully covered so that the chances of wetting the toilet will be zero. :) That's my ONLY SMALL complain. In the room, cappucino, teas are free for us! And there's a kettle for boiling. Very convenient. Most importantly, it's 3 stops from the Duomo Station which has all the shopping districts. Breakfast not world class but definitely sufficient and the standard is decent! Not a large variety but can do:) I strongly recommend this hotel even though it might be a little pricey!

This small secluded hotel is just a stones throw from the main shopping/cafe street in Milan. Very little to no noise from the Main Street though. Only a few short minutes walk to the castle and the Duomo and a huge high-end shopping area. Avis/Budget car rental is within walking distance in case you need to rent a car. The visitors center is about 5 mins away and you can book tours to Como, walking tours of Milan (including seeing the Last Supper - book in advance!!!). The included breakfast is just enough to get your day going and the friendly (English speaking) staff will help with most anything. The rooms are recently renovated and very comfortable (awesome shower!). My wife and I will definitely stay here again.

I have been staying in this hotel in Milan for the past few years. The rooms are clean and decent, although small, comparing to other hotels nearby. Wifi connection is free and good. However the best thing about this hotel is the central location in Milan. It is minutes away by foot to the Duomo, shopping galleries and la scala theatre. There are also many nice restaurants in the galleria which is about 15 minutes walk away. For good restaurants, you can find paper moon along Via Bagutta or the galleria area. I will recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Milan for the first time. Whether it’s for business or leisure.

We book this hotel because it has good value for money and is situated 10km away from Milan central. We arrived late for check in but there were still a long queue. The receptionist did a good job to check us in within 5 minutes. Our room was clean, bright and adequately spaced out. The breakfast was great with good variety of bread, cereal and fruits..and the coffee was good too!. There is a wifi charge but otherwise, excellent value for a 1 night stay.

this is a wonderful hotel. its so convenient for the malpensa airport shuttle and also for getting the train to other destinations in italy. Very convenient. The rooms are spotlessly clean, checkin was very efficient and the continental breakfast was the best we have had. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at nyx milan and do hope to come back again to explore more of milan and other cities

this hotel was the easiest to find amongst all the hotels we had stayed in italy, and is easily one of the best hotels during our 2 weeks vacation in italy. it is a 10 mins walk from the milano centrale stazione, and another 15 mins walk to the shopping district, corso buenas aires. we were greeted by alberto during check-in. we appreciated the fact that he congratulated us (noting the fact we were on our honeymoon). he tried to help us get tickets to the ac milan game that day (though it was a loss cause because it was too last-minute). others at the concierge were just as courteous and obliging. the breakfast was good. try the hot chocolate! room was chic, had most things we need during our stay. tv had more channels than others we have stayed in. overall pretty complete for a hotel.

I came here for a congress. The place is located in a nice rural neighborhood. It is probably a 10 to 12 minute walk to get to the metro station. There are probably hotels that are located closer to the Milan centre so this location might not work well for everyone. I think the staff was pretty competent and bilingual. This is very important because it makes it easy to solve problems that might arise during the trip.

Free shuttle included and breakfast which opens at 5am..In room safe and refrigerator. Cons: There was no information in the reservation about the shuttle pick up at the airport. Was unable to contact the hotel in spite of an online telephone number and had to have local Italians at the airport contact them for me. The way the Milan airport is set up, it was very confusing to figure out where this pick up was. Exits are marked on the sides and outside with different numbers from the inside. Even a local gave me wrong directions. Airport information services claimed to know nothing about hotel shuttle pick up areas, and I speak Italian, LOL!

What an amazing way to start off my Milan adventure! The room was the largest I've ever had in Europe (two-room suite, two bathrooms with heated floor, and automatic window shades) and the atmosphere was simple elegance. I half wanted to stay in the room all day. Fortunately, it was too close to Duomo and other landmarks to do so (about a 10-15 minute walk). Breakfast was passable, though not great - still a small criticism. If I return to Milan, I will absolutely stay here.

I've stayed in a few hotels across north and southern italy, and Hotel De La Ville is one of the better ones. Location is great - just 5 minutes walk from the city centre (where the Duomo of Milano is). Attentive staff. Wifi access was good in the room and more important it's free, something not all hotels in Italy provide without extra charge (or have good wifi reception inside rooms). It's a little pricey but we consider it reasonable given its proximity to Milan's shopping belt. If and when I return to Milan, Hotel De La Ville will be my choice again.

It is actually very near to Missori station (20 meters) away which is just one sto after Duomo station taken from Centrale station (Euro 1.50 per person for any urban ride). There will be 'scavengers' at the station trying to intervene and offer help. But it comes with a price. As it was my first trip to Italy, they took whatever change they lay their hands on when the machine disperse the change. So, just remember, Euro 1.50 per person and look for Milan train map thru google. As per some reviewers', we tried walking from Duomo station and it was a long walk. More than 800 metres walk. Especially it was drizzling during that time, it makes the walk very unpleasant and cold. As it is not very close to the centre of attraction (duomo cathedral), it has its own peacefulness and quietness. The staff were friendly but there is limitations to their English literacy. So, kindly be understanding.

From check in until check out everything was perfect. Room was the best I've ever stay in the range of price. Bathroom is very big and clean. They even got safety seal on each toiletries, something you won't find even in 5 stars hotel. Bed was comfort and linen was clean. There is some kind of heater where you can hang your towel to dry. Location wise it is just 2 train change to Piazza del Duomo and Castello Sforzesco. Tram stop and tabachi is just a stone throw away. Tram no 9 will pass right in front of the hotel. Definitely will be my first choice whenever in Milan.

I was so pleasantly surprised with this hotel, from the minute I walked in I felt welcomed by the staff, the hotel was clean, modern, well appointed, great value for money and the breakfast was remarkable for Italy. This hotel is ideal if your traveling through Milan or if you staying for a few days to visit. It's close to the city to access via the metro or cab but, also out of the way so you not caught up with the hustle of the city Excellent array of restaurants in the walking area

newer modern designed hotel very close to metro and nearby to duomo and last supper. large room had extra sitting area, bathroom with both tub and shower and comfy bed. felt spacious. included breakfast buffet was top notch with all items labeled,3 serving attendants and gluten free items in an eating area with ample table choices. staff spoke some english and were helpful. unfortunately we were given a room on the street side with a trolley bus line that was a noise nuisance but not so bad as to prevent sleeping. also be aware that there are more than one una hotels in milan so cusani is specific. example of extra price of about 150 euros giving extra luxury.
