9.2Exceptional
Although I feel uneasy walking at night on the way to the subway station near public housing, where there are people smoking marijuana and beggars, it is very convenient to get to Manhattan or Citi Field, the home of the Mets.

9.2Exceptional
The accommodation is very clean and comfortable. The soundproofing is not very good, and breakfast is not provided. There is free street parking available nearby. It is close to the subway station. It was inconvenient that there was no locking mechanism on the bathroom door. However, I was very satisfied with the price, so I think I will stay here again when I come to New York.

Recently remodeled and clean, it's a 10-minute bus ride to the metro station, making access to Manhattan not too bad. The surrounding environment is not particularly pleasant, but it is not especially dangerous either.

8.4Excellent
I stayed for 6 nights in June 2026. Overall the hotel was great. I had the studio room which was excellent, spacious and cleaned daily. Plenty of storage and the bathroom was perfect. It also had a mini-fridge. The staff were polite and attentive. The cafe downstairs was great. The third floor had a water fountain where you could fill up water bottles. The main negative point for me was that the room was not sound proofed. I was on the 9th floor and my windows were facing the rear of the hotel. You could hear all kinds of car horns, car alarms, vehicles reversing and industrial noises throughout the day and night. My colleague had a room on the 6th floor facing the front and his room was even noisier. After his first night he requested to be moved, which the staff accommodated and moved him to the 11th floor which was rear-facing. Another negative was that the coffee machine in my studio room was terrible. It often didn't work and the coffee supplies provided we not enough. I didn't make a complaint about it, but I'm sure the staff would have replaced it if I did. The location is also very convenient to commute into Manhattan. It's about a 10 minute walk to the nearest subway station. But the neighbourhood didn't feel very safe. I certainly wouldn't want to be walking around there at night. An Uber to JFK airport takes around 40 minutes and cost me $69.

“A new hotel two subway stations away from Manhattan.”
The building and facilities are still new and comfortable for staying. There are only small shops for local residents around the hotel, but there are chain restaurants and supermarkets near the nearest station, 21st Queensbridge Station, and a bit further at Queens Plaza Station. There is a factory with four smokestacks that appears in the movie Avengers nearby, and from around 6 AM to 10 PM, you can hear the sounds of operations, but it's not disruptive enough to interfere with sleep. If you are concerned, having earplugs would provide peace of mind. It's only two subway stations to Manhattan, so I recommend it for those who want to enjoy NYC sightseeing while keeping accommodation costs down.
