“Good hotel and nice stay ”

We had a nice stay and it suited our needs. Good location for the Brighton Centre for gigs and events, easy walking distance into the town and lanes. Room was clean and well presented. The air con wasn’t very efficient and so we were very hot, also if tall go for a king size bed as double was shorter than some hotels. Only two staff on a very busy bar so expect a wait particularly if they are making cocktails.

“Good hotel unprofessional check in ”

Overall amazing hotel if you can bypass the staff and get your own water to drink. The hotel overall is good value for money and is in an amazing location. The reason I am hesitant to give 5 starts are 1. The hotel checkin was quite unprofessional. When asked what are the timing of the breakfast he (Eric) responded “ I will give you the paper with all the details “ . Never responded to my question and proceeded to hand me over an A4 sheet. The questions he asked sounded like an interrogation “Are you aware that you have breakfast is included “ “ Are you aware that you have a sea view” “ Are you aware that your booking is paid” 2. When I asked can I have some water the staff said we only provide that to Hilton members. Basic things like drinking bottled water is not provided in the room. They only provide that when you become a premium member. I feel that is very aggressive market strategy. Additionally there was a leak in the basin and an awkward tap that made it difficult to wash hands without spilling.

    “Nice location”

I stayed for work so didn't have much time at this hotel. Staff were very accommodating, the room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was OK, I was able to get items to meet my dietary requirements. Great location on the seafront.

    “Weekend away”

Never again!!! Avoid. Mattress was worst I have ever slept on…. Think cheap eBay style springy mattress that crunched and pinged on every movement. That was the bed. Worn and poor quality bedding that needed replacing. Hotel clearly are not using a ‘Hilton’ approved as we have stayed in numerous Hilton’s across the uk and beyond and always have high quality pillows and bedding and an appropriate hotel mattress. I videoed the mattress and still awaiting for hotel to contact me regarding such. 1st room - air con broke and steamy and damp. 2nd room- had to wait over half an hour for managers approval to change rooms and tiny room, appalling bed. Maybe we were loved to a last resort room? However first wasn’t any better really! Bathroom is both rooms was so small it was hard to close door once you were inside! Bath was very tired and shower head was small and no pressure. Considering the star rating I was shocked and we left hotel and booked elsewhere to continue our trip. Much cheaper and higher quality hotels about. Staff abrupt and not overly friendly. Had to ask for water as was not in rooms. Bar closed early even for hotel residents. Cleaners knocking at door well before check out- incredibly annoying!
