    “Glasgow Wedding weekend”

We found the hotel reception area to be clean and tidy however upon entering our room it was like going back in time, very dated and very dusty in places, clearly the cleaners need to pay more attention. In this modern age it would be expected for water to be provided in the room however none was present, nor any sugar by the tea and coffee, after several calls to reception eventually someone picked up they asked if I could come and get sugar, no apology was offered. The shower thermostat also seemed to be failing one minute the water was tepid and the next almost boiling and constantly changing temperature during use - the hotel did nothing to come and look at the issue. Finally the TV did not work, apparently the hotel was experiencing signal issues, The receptionists answer to all of these was to make a complaint and see if some compensation could be offered. Considering the price we paid to stay here, we would of had a better experience in staying at a travel lodge, would have been far cheaper and at least you get a consistent service.

“Overnight in a very pleasant room”

We would recommend this hotel but with some reservations. On check-in the reception and porter were both very helpful. The room was lovely and particularly good for us as disabled guests. However we were disappointed in the receptionist when we checked out. We had had a few drinks in the bar in the evening we arrived and we signed for 5 drinks yet we were charged for 7 drinks which added about £15 erroneously to our bill. We definitely signed for 5 drinks only so why the account was wrong is a mystery. On checking out we were told that we’d need to speak to the manager as the receptionist was unable to help . Unfortunately he wasn’t going to be in until tomorrow. My husband doesn’t like making a fuss so he had paid the bill but it’s a lot extra to pay when we didn’t owe it. So beware bar staff who may make mistakes. Also the receptionist should have been able to deal with this. Despite this though we would still recommend the hotel for its comfort, situation and its good breakfast.
