“Reasonable hotel but some unexpected policies”
I booked 2 nights through Agoda and gave a credit card number, and I understood that this card would not be charged until I arrived (of course I knew it would be charged in the event that I did not come). In fact the hotel charged my credit card for the cost of 2 nights almost as soon as I made the booking (about 6 weeks before arrival). I was also surprised that the hotel asked me to walk down the street to a shop where I could photocopy my passport and then bring the copy back to them - most hotels would simply copy it themselves using their own photocopier. I have been told that people who checked in a couple of days later were not asked to do this. The reception staff vary in their command of English.
