“Yamgaku Hotel at the Shin Hodaka Trailhead”
During my mountain trips, I always passed by this place. I had always been curious about it, but never managed to go. This time, I made a reservation for the first time as it was our wedding anniversary. There was a sign indicating 40 days at the entrance. The hotel retained the atmosphere of a good old mountain lodge, and there was a fire burning in the fireplace. Speaking of Gifu Prefecture, there's Mt. Kasagatake, and I had a calming view of that mountain from my room. The food was delicious. The staff's service was pleasant. The large bath had carbonated spring and sulfur spring, providing a relaxing experience. Among the unique Okuhida hot springs, I think this is a nice and pleasant onsen. I thought to myself, what a wonderful hotel this is. I want to stay here slowly at least once; it’s that kind of hotel. I think it’s a shame for such a hotel to close down. It’s disappointing that the Shin-Hodaka mountain trailhead will become lonely.
