I'm really not used to writing comments about hotels or B&B but POINT A is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed having traveled around the world. Everything is just in place. Gary the guy at the front desk is out of this world. He's always on tap to get you anything you want accompanied with a lovely smile. I had to jokingly but seriously asked him if he barely caught a shut eye amidst his activities. The lady in the restaurant whose name I cannot remember right now can be likened to a bulldozer. Also always at alert to welcome the guests and ask them what they want. The hotel is highly organized, extremely clean and cosy. Most importantly, it is situated in the center of town which is a stone throw to a beehive of activities. Any time I'm in Glasgow, I won't look anywhere else. Mark Stevenson Fuo. {Brazil}

I and my sister got a double room with a window for 1 night at Alexandre Thomson Hotel. The room was sparkling clean and spacious even for 3 adults. Everything was in great condition. We were offered bottled water, tea, coffee, milk, sugar and 2 biscuits. Staff were very friendly and always smiling. Location is probably one of the best things. The hotel is less than 200 m away from Glasgow central station so you won't be afraid of missing the trains. The hotel also let us store our luggages after checking out, just remember to take the numbered tags with you. It was my fault to forget such things, fortunately the young man at reception on 7 Sep afternoon was very kind to have let me retrieve my suitcases. Lifts are available up to floor 5, for floor 6 you will have to climb a little bit. Included breakfast is acceptable and with lots of choices. In conclusion, we do think that the price comes with the value, especially in a big city like Glasgow. We definitely will come back to Alexander Thomson Hotel again if we're in Glasgow!

Stayed in this old world hotel for four nights during the Celtic Connections music festival, having gotten a good price online. It was a perfect location, right in the city centre and convenient to many of the city's attractions. Fine big single room and a huge en suite bathroom with a great shower. The view was of the grimy roof of the adjoining railway station but I didn't mind that a bit. Self-service carvery-style breakfast was a bit surprising in a four star hotel but it was good and you could eat all you wanted. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. One of the young receptionists even went out onto the street to show me where my bus stop was. I would definitely recommend the Grand Central Glasgow to anyone.

We have stayed in the Liverpool Z Hotel so knew what we were getting. You get what you pay for, in that the rooms are small and ours didn't have a window. But when on a budget and not in the room much, it's fine! Just set an alarm as the room is always pitch black. Rooms are best for solo travellers or couples due to the frosted glass around the bathroom, doesn't offer much privacy. It was quiet, clean and in a fab location in central Glasgow. Staff were helpful and polite. The main perks of this hotel is that it has Sky TV, complimentary bottled water and twa/coffee in the room and best of all, the complimentary cheese and glass of wine which runs every evening from 5-8pm! We paid for breakfast buffet (£7.50 each if you pay the night before). There was a great selection of fresh food including bacon rolls, scrambled/boiled egg, cereals, pastries, bagels, crumpets, bread, fruit, muesli, meats, cheeses, juice and tea/coffee. We will definitely be using the Z's again!

Hi, my wife & I travelled to Glasgow for a 5 day break from Derry, Ireland.. We stayed at Rennie Mackintosh hotel- Central station, 59, Union st. This hotel is right in the Center of Glasgow with the whole town at your doorstep, Shops, Bars, Restaurants, Theatres, Cinema. Very clean & the most friendly & helpful staff you could ask for. Donegal Patrick & Neema were most courteous in securing the same room number 325 each vacation. THANK YOU’S BOTH. There is a bar in the hotel with FREE beverage drinks available 24/7, beautifully decorated with a real nice Scottish tartan carpet.This was our third visit this year. Accommodation prices cheap. All you could ask for in your room, On suite, tv, kettle, hairdryer etc. So I recommend strongly a great Central hotel in the heart of Glasgow for your trip.. 5 star rating from my wife & myself. 👌

Staff were excellent, couldn't do more for us and were friendly and approachable. Asked for ice for the room and it was delivered as quick as possible, maybe around 5 min later.The spa was great add on to the hotel stay wish it was free all day for hotel guests not just 6-9 but great quality. Bed was super comfy and the bathroom was great as it had a really good shower and bath. The only thing that I would change is the check out time as 11am is pretty early, even an extra hour would make the difference, to check out at 2pm it was an extra 35 pounds which I thought was pretty steep. Didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on that. Overall paying just over 100 pounds for 5 star service and use of the spa is well worth it.

Arrived at the hotel late in the evening after choosing to haul my suitcase up a steep hill so I was really tired and snippy with the gentleman checking me in. He, on the other hand was even keeled, courteous, and quite professional, which served to calm me down. During my five day stay, the entire staff proved to be delightful - friendly and knowledgeable about places to visit and how to get there. Hotel is lovely - room was modern and upbeat though my view was obscured by walls of the building next door; bits of the past was evident in the spiral stairs leading from the bar up to an old organ loft, and the balusters depict Greek Orthodox scenes reminiscent of the hotel's history. Enjoyed my visits to both the bar, and restaurant for breakfast (learned restaurant was formerly a crypt😱 ). Easy walk to shopping and downtown action. Left my scarf when I checked out and the staff mailed it across the "pond" at no cost to me. Would absolutely stay there again.

I have to say, when i arrived, i felt a little disappointed, as the en suite was a little shabby. Mould stains on the roof, a crack in the roof and sloppy repairs to the mosiac style tyles. The shower cubicle was not the best either...as it was small, and when the shower was on, the shower curtain was doing that thing, where it kept wanting to stick to me, and i didnt have much room to escape it lol But apart from that....i was happy. Nice staff, good location and did what i needed it to do. Bottom line is, i would happily sbook to stay there again if im in Glasgow.

Me and my partner had a very pleasant stay at IBIS. The hotel is located within minutes of Glasgow Centre, with many bars/restaurants around. Train station around the corner, bus to the airport 5 min walk. Staff at the front dest was great, up for a chat, and despite working during christmast they still smiled. The best part of the room service was that, despite the fact we had "do not disturb" sign on the door, we still got fresh towels which were left for us in a IBIS branded bag. Room we had was spacious and clean, based on my experience I'd definitely stay with IBIS again.

1st floor room was allocated only downside was the room was like an oven even when thermostat was turned off and the air con wasn’t working , had to sleep with the window slightly open downside was the wind noise as the first floor rooms to the front of the hotel seem to be in a wind tunnel plus the traffic noise , due to having to sleep with the window open so overall not a great nights sleep , if booked again would not stay on the first floor

This Ibis is the best one we have ever stayed in the World. Location is perfect as St. Enoch Centre, Prince Square Shopping Centre and Glasgow Central Station are nearby. If you wish to join day tour to Loch Ness, the pick-up point shall be near George Square and it will only take you less than 10min. to get there. For the room itself, the room size is good enough for 2 luggage and the water pressure of the shower is also great! Clean and tidy room and anything you need is equipped, except a refrigerator. But you don’t need that as Glasgow has been so freezing for you.

It was my first stay at the hotel which is located in the city centre. I paid another 20pounds per night to upgrade my room to executive suite. The room was tastefully furnished with clean lines and its bathroom equipped with good shower and fragrant toiletries. There was also compliment coffee/tea making facilities in the room. The buffet breakfast at the restaurant was excellent with wide range of selections. On the whole, the staff at the reception counter and the restaurant were friendly, pleasant and helpful. It would be nice if the wifi at the hotel is free of charge instead of limiting it to only an hour. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Glasgow.

Stayed here with my husband , whilst my daughter and her friend attended Transmt, excellent location for this and for us to go into the city centre restaurant for the day /evening . Rooms very clean and check out was 12 was ideal for us . Reception staff very helpful and friendly . Let my daughters other friends come in to order a taxi . Breakfast was very good and great selection . Food ordered at night for girls from the bar which was ok ,bit expensive at £12 for a pizza Nachos though were rubbish at £5 , they were cheap tortillas on a plate with microwaved cheese which was overdone and it went brick hard and inedible , there’s a knack to microwave nachos and they haven’t nailed it here. They also ordered food the next day which wasn’t that great . All in all very good hotel with a slight blip on the food front .
