Not worth it”
Hotel was really weird since the main entrance was blocked and you have to go up a hill on the other side and do a big circle to get to the hotel. It was very odd that you also look out the window and see people’s laundry and storage on their balcony since the middle of the hotel is all residency. The hotel is really old and the corridor looked creepy. The room reeked of second-hand smoke even though we asked for a non-smoking room. The view was great on the balcony but again, laundry hanging. Breakfast was awful. The only edibles were cereal and milk as well as toast with jam. The eggs were cooked poorly. Mostly uncooked and they argue that’s how people like it even though they’ve never eaten it themselves. Most western food is cold sitting there really small selection to choose from. Staff doesn’t speak English so very bad communication. Don’t recommend at all. No reason to save money to get this kind of hospitality.

Gorgeous hotel, perfect view of the Pacific Ocean!”
Easily one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in in Taiwan (and possibly worldwide). My family loved the comfort and the perfect view of the Pacific Ocean you can get from your balcony. The hotel is very well-maintained despite being right next to the ocean. The beach is literally at your doorstep and it makes for the perfect getaway from city life. The staff were really helpful and advised us on food and activities options because the hotel is so out of the way. Overall, the stay was fantastic and was a highlight of our trip!

A decent hotel at an excellent location”
I stayed at the Howard Beach Hotel for the WanJinShi marathon 2019. The location is perfect because it was just right next to the start/finish line of the marathon. I stayed at this hotel mainly out of convenience: simply step out of the hotel and I am ready to join the race . With that said, let's start with the good bits: 1. location and view : the hotel is right next to the beach, overlooking the pacific ocean. It is also near the famous Ye-Liu geological park and there are several tourist spots along the coast within half hour driving distance. 2. Buffet: the food is quite nice. Now, the not so good 1. The hotel is part of the High-rise apartment complex. The hotel itself takes up 1st, 2nd and the upper three floors. The rest are apartment complex belonging to local residents. So it is kinda weird trying to figure out which part is hotel which part is apartment complex 2. The room and facilities looks dated though the room is clean and nothing to complain.

oceanside hotel with excellent seafood in area”
the hotel is dated and good for families with small children as they have great indoor playground. ( slides and little plastic balls) . No pool and beach access is closed in winter. best part is seafood restaurant 10 min taxi ride away. ask front desk staff for best one.

Can't think of anything good.This is really a poor hotel. I've stayed in many resorts and am pretty easy to please, but this one had to be one of the worst. Only one functioning restaurant with lousy food. Not much nearby to eat either, and no room service if you want to avoid the dingy restaurant. So it's one of the few options for food. You have to pay a separate fee to get access to the dirty pool and beach. I wasn't permitted to swim in the pool though, because I didn't have a swim cap. I don't think the cap would've made much of a difference; the pool looked pretty yellow despite their swim cap policy. All of the kiddy pools were dried out and barren, so there are no pools for kids to swim in. The rental bicycles all had flat tires, yet no staff seemed to want to take the initiative to pump up or repair any of the bicycles, which is odd, because the young staff hanging around didn't seem to be very busy with any other work or maintenance, that I could see. But I was able to shorten my stay and Agoda got a day's worth of payment refunded, without much fuss from the hotel. So that's one saving grace. Avoid this hotel. It will be just another remnant in the ghost town that is Green Bay within a year. Don't prolong it's painful death!

Suprised!”
What surprised us was that the ammentieis such as the beach and pools were not included in the price of our room. Appearently the Howard has sold these to a new hotel next door, so Howard guests are no longer able to use them without paying a fee. Looking at the Howard website it would be difficult for you to know this, even though they don't specifically say the ammenities are included, they still show pictures of them, implying that they are included. The less than honest advertising is dissappointung.

The hotel is little bit out of date. The staff is very friendly and food is more than satisfactory. The public beach is littered with different kinds of trash but the view of our hotel room is great.

Nice Hotel”
we stayed here for 4 nights. we enjoyed our stay. the hotel was a little old, although the rooms were very nice and clean. the hotel has a good gym and pool area. you do need to wear a plastic band on your wrist the entire time, and show this every time you enter the pool/beach area. the buffet breakfast was really nice with a good selection of food. the hotel is a little far from any food places so you will need to buy most of your meals on site.

Extra fees for facilities a rip-off”
It was frustrating and infuriating that we had to pay a high amount of money to use the swimming pool facilities, dining areas, and beach access. the beach itself was disgusting--so much garbage on the beach and in the water!!!! The Howard Resort Hotel should offer and allow its guests a substantial discount for access to the supposedly separately owned swimming pools and beachfront. We will NEVER return to this hotel, and I strongly recommend that people avoid this big rip-off of a so-called 5-star resort hotel.

Very nice and beautiful beach”
Very peaceful and quiet. Love it when me and my brothers family "owned" the beach. Because there were rarely other tourists...maybe just a few. Only thing to complain would be the power lines are suspect to be weak around the area. We had 2 black out events during our stay.

Staff is good, but that's it. ”
1. Mosquitoes in the room. Our stay was 4 days and we killed 4 mosquitoes a day. 2. The convenience store at first floor opens sometimes but you would need to ask the clerks at the front desk if you want to buy anything from it. 3. The front door is facing the beach. To drive to the front door, you would need to drive onto the mountain and come down to the beach, taking 3 minutes to drive from Route 2. 4. Nothing in walking distance except a 7-11 10-minute walk away. Close to the seafood market and Yehliu and but in driving distance. 5. Old-fashioned room with a real, physical key and lock. The room is spacious and facing the ocean.

Terrible”
Not only will I not be staying at this hotel, I will never stay at another Howard again. While the conditon of the hotel is actually acceptable, the staff seems to be on a power trip, enforcing arbitrary "rules" such as requiring a government-issued ID, in addition to the hotels facilities card, for towel rental. Who brings an ID to a hotel swimming pool? At the restaurant, the waitress refused to acknowledge my wife when she requested service. Over the past few years, we have spent considerable time at high quality resorts throughout Asia. The Howard hotels (and to a lesser extent, many resorts in Taiwan) have no clue how to treat customers. While more expensive, and in its infancy, seems an intriguing option for a northern Taiwan resort.

The location was pretty good, but breakfast was not amazing and the whole vibe of the place is strange. It seems a lot of the building is apartments. I would stay in the area again, but try a different hotel .
