You get what you paid for. Hwangnamkwan may be a bit pricey for some, but let me tell you that it is well worth it! Inside the accomodation is so spacious that you can open 4 big luggages at the same time. It is clean and well maintained. I also love the fact that it is a short walk from most of the spots that we are planning to visit. It’s also close to most restaurants and convenience stores. The staff are helpful and accomodating. The only downside is the uneven flooring from the entrance going to our accomodation but i guess this is part of the overall vibe. Just make sure to pack light or be strong enough to lift your heavy luggage.
I stayed 2 nights in the Hwangnamkwan Hanok Guesthouse. The location of the place is pretty good, as it's at a walking distance from few attractions, and buses. You can also enjoy the Free for guest Hanbok experience (women, men and kids). The room was really clean and functional. But the "futon" bed was quite thin compare to the one I used to sleep on in Japan. And I was glad to be alone, so I was able to stack two of them together. So this is a really great experience for 1 o 2 nights, but if you are looking for long and comfortable stay in Gyeongju-si, this may be not the best option.
This is a perfect location, at the bottom end of the main street, and also easy walking distance to the historical sites to the west. Great bakery on the south side, and easy access to many restaurants. Sleeping on the floor was exactly what you would expect! The roll out mats are quite thin, so not very comfortable, but it's clear what you're signing up to! Unfortunately, the paper shutters don't deal well with moisture from the shower - the one on that window was distinctly mouldy, though generally the rest of the room was OK. The grounds are lovely, centred around a koi pond, with bridge and a see-saw, which made up for the drawbacks.
The location is at the edge of Fanlidangil, but since Fanlidangil itself is within walking distance, there is absolutely no trouble moving around. From here, you can walk to famous places like Hyanghwajeong, Donggung and Wolji, and Woljeonggyo. Right behind the hotel are shops for rice cakes and salt bread, and a little further ahead are places like Terarosa, where you can enjoy meals while taking in the view. The interior may not be the so-called stylish Hanok, but it's comfortable enough to relax in, and the water facilities are very clean. In the morning, there are no human voices or car noises, just the sound of birds chirping, and at night, only the sounds of insects can be heard, making it such a quiet place that you could almost wonder if you were in Korea. The staff is very kind, and they even say goodbye with a cheerful wave when you leave. I have the impression that there are many friendly people in Gyeongju. Taxis can be easily hailed. I would like to stay here again the next time I come to Gyeongju.

“Beautiful and well kept hanok with ondol”
Pros: The place is undoubtfully beautiful. The garden is amazing and they let you rent a hanbok free for 1h to go around the property. It is clean, well kept and the staff are very nice. The beds are comfortable and the heated floor temperature can be adjusted. The location is in the main street of Gyeongju. Overall great great experience. Cons: Bear in mind the room does not have a window, the bathrooms has a window, but the "window" of the room is the door that faces the garden and has 3 layers - outside, net and inside wooden panel doors with paper. You need to have it open to see outside though. The sound isolation of the place is not good, so we could hear our neighbour snoring. Still, it is a traditional hanok, so this is all normal. The location was a bit far from the bus station and very far from the train station so we had to use taxis. The room was also a bit smaller than what I expected, but the beds are big
