Mashobra hotels & places to stay

I had stayed here with my youngest son, during our golfing weekend at Naldhera Golf Course. The location of this hotel is one of the best that I have stayed at. Right on top of the ridge, one is afforded a view to both sides of the valley. The room is clean and also has a kitchenette. The room service was great and the food yummy. It has become my go to place for Naldhera hills.

First things first . The staff and location of this property is amazing . If you are looking for a place away from the gustle bustle if the city . These 2 factor alone makes up for any cons in the property. Property is a refurbished old house and has maintained its certain element . It still has lots of picture depicting old times There arent many cons but compared with other Mahindra property this one isnt that big The food quality specially the ala carte one is ok , considering the steep price. Buffet spread is good and has decent variety. What definetly needs improvement is its heating mechanism . Specially during peak winter the property is just too cold to keep you comfortable . We had to ask for extra heater in the room The lobby was very cold too . So i say hotel needs to spend a bit towards insulation and heating. But all an all a great experience and lots of things to do at funzone in the hotel We stayed there for 4 days towards end of february and enjoyed our stay.

Giving review for another property of the same owner, I have booked for Sitapur village resort and when I called for booking confirmation I came to know that there was some electrical issue going on at the resort and the customer support provided me accommodation to their mall road property. I wanted to be at peaceful and not much crowded place but eventually my kids have enjoyed the mall road shopping and Diwali celebration. The hotel staff was nice and very cooperating will visit this hotel again.

The hotel staff and the services all are soo bad that it just spoilt our whole trip. There is no cleanliness, the blankets are stinky. The staff is so uncourteous and rude. There wasn't even hot water at the hotel. Nope of the food mentioned on the menu is available and the one that is available is really pathetic. There wo bon fire every electric appliance is broken whether its there TV, griller or even their tandoor.The hotel oqwner himself is do non proffessional and rude. Would not recommened a stay at the hotel to anyone. Can't even dream of going back there.

Our stay was superb. The best part is the hotel is new some structures still in the works. The views are awesome, the hotel has smaller cottages housing a couple of rooms each, offering privacy for each room. Each small cottage has a small lobby area is for only 2-3 rooms, and it also has small shared dining area. Rooms are small, but thats what you we needed. Our room was too small if we had 2 kids with us. In which case, I would have booked a bigger room. The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The views are awesome, also has small play are for kids and covered patio with remarkable views. A lot of thought seems to have gone into building the hotel. Now the downside: Best if driven in. We took the bus. Other guests were surprised when we socialized with them that we did not drive. Bus passes by at 7:40AM each morning taking the commuters into Shimla. We LOVED hanging out in the bus with the locals. The locals are super respectful of tourists. It is 3.5 kms (almost 2.2 miles downhill off the main road). The walk downhill is not that bad. We walked once and we loved the decent. I would not walk up and get sweaty and walk around in Shimla without taking a shower again. Apart from being out of the way, it is the best priced hotel in Shimla. I would do it again even with the approach via bus. Bus fair was Rs. 28 per person to Shimla. The last night we stayed at another hotel in Shimla which was more expensive with them. At the other hotel the sheets were so filthy, we could not sleep. If I were to trade clean rooms (especially bedsheets) and take a bus ride, I would take this hotel. if I had a car, no doubt, I would stay here again.

The main drawback is that there is no green area whatsoever to sit out in ! This is not a place to sit inside the rooms !! The floor tilings are worn out, giving a shabby feeling ! By the way, the location as given in your description is totally wrong ! This is 20 kms OUTSIDE central Shimla !! Please correct this severe anomaly - this is virtually true for almost all the hotel listings of the area on your website !!

I would not repeat it. Apart from the grime ended up with an upset tummy. Since there were no pleasant walks or anything to do within the 'resort' had to call for cabs all the time. while the view from the window was nice, the place is a mere 10 or 15 ft from the main highway, so the noise of traffic was a constant not a tranquil experience. lack of any amenities leaves you stranded.

We arrived at the hotel, they failed to recognise our booking with Agoda and were completely unsympathetic to our situation. We wasted about two hours until 4am in the morning, waiting for them to recognise our booking. The booking was never recognised and we had to pay for the booking and the hotel itself. The hotel staff did not give us the benefit of the doubt and took a substantially longtime to service us. Despite this, they refused to extend check out. It was as if they didn't even care about our stay or situation. We arrived late because of new year traffic and scams. We had to pay a lot in a taxi ride just to make it out to this hotel from Shimla. The location is horrible, would not recommend if you intend to see or visit Shimla. The staff simply would call a taxi number and hand the phone over to us, doing nothing to negotiate a fair price. Definitely overpriced for a place that is in the middle of nowhere.
