Pahar Ganj hotels & places to stay

Every time I am in Delhi I visit this hotel because for what you get for the price, you just can't beat it. 1) Price - For 3 nights I paid less than 1 night in almost all hotels in and around Delhi airport. 2) Free transfer - Included in price you get a free pick from airport. Trust me if Delhi is your first stop in India you will need this. Delhi can be a bit of a shock to the system at first for most westerners so having someone pick you up from airport and drop you off to hotel takes away any potential problems at the beginning of your trip. 3) Beds - I have had some of my best night sleeps in this hotel. Mattresses are so comfy. 4) Restaurant - Breakfast isnt included but its INR 200 which is nothing for what you get. Its more of an Indian breakfast but kitchen will pretty much make you anything within reason (i.e. Pancakes, Omelette, boiled eggs etc). Also Delhi can be stressful so your hotel so having an outside terrace to have a drink at end of the day is a bonus.

this is perhaps the best and the most successful hotel in Arakashan Road of Pahar Ganj. Still there is some room for improvement. The airport pick up was still a worry sometimes. I myself met four times already...sometimes they reached the wrong gate, sometimes the wrong terminal, and sometimes they just didnt show up. The light in my studio room cannot be turned off unless the key card is pulled off. These small things can be improved to make a already great hotel even greater. i am looking forward to seeing a even better Godwin Hotel next time.

It is really located near the railway statin and also very close to Pahar Ganj, so we didn't have to worry about coming back to the hotel at late night after enjoying drinking in Pahar Ganj. For the location, yes, it was really noisy around the hotel, but it would not be that big problem around the time when you want to go to bed at night. The hotel staffs know what hospitality is, they are very friendly and attentive and speak pretty fluent English. The only one thing we hope to get better was Wi-Fi access. Often cut off, not so fast. However, we really loved staying here and also enjoyed tasting the food at the restaurant. We were supposed to stay only 2 nights, but we got 1 more night staying. If someone asks me where to Stay in New Delhi, I would absolutely recommend Bloomrooms to her/him. :)

you can save a lot of money by staying in a cheapo place in pahar ganj, or you can stay someplace that is comfortable and pretty clean. i chose the latter and was very satisfied with the goodwin deluxe. the room was a little rough around the edges, but it's a solid three star place aiming for four. anywhere in pahar ganj is going to be noisy, so be prepared for that. the rooftop restaurant is not bad.

My husband, myself, and our 10 month old son had a good stay for one week at Hari Piorko. Its centrally located, and the staff is very frienly and helpful. The rooms are as they appear in the pictures - pretty spacious, with an aquarium that adds a lovely touch. Its one of the more quality hotels in Pahar Ganj (the backpacker area of Dehli), and a good value for the price. The staff even arranged access to a refrigerator for baby supplies, which was much appreciated. The upstairs restaurant is tastey with a lovely rooftop setting, but slightly more expensive compared to other restaurants in the area. The restaurant does room service. The rooms are not 100% toddler friendly - the flooring is marble, there is one spot where the air conditioning is that has electrical outlets within toddler reach, and the staircase in the common area has hazardous gaps if the child leaves the room. Overall, you can make the room baby-proof, but you cannot let the child into the hallways unattended. Overall, we had a great stay, and would recommend this hotel to other travelers.

booked this hotel according to agoda reviews and pictures, it didn't disappoint us. the location was very good, near train and metro station, the surrounding in pahar ganj is quite crappy but the hotel is a good escape away from the crowd, noise and dirty on the street; airport pick-up was excellent, totally free and only parking fee was charged, which is very reasonable, free internet in the hall, reasonable price for airport drop-off, room service etc. the restaurant attached to the hotel was a bit pricey, but food was quite decent. standard room we booked was clean, spacious albeit noisy at day time given india is generally a noise-filled place. overall experience is good.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff including travel guy who arranged our bus to Dharamsala. Great location in the midst of Pahar Ganj. Very clean. We stayed at the Smyle Inn #2 which had standard rooms...somewhat small but large bed. Good enough. The hotel was bodered by small alley ways that were noisy till mid evening with people yelling, dogs, horns, etc but after mid eve no problem....this noise comes with the territory in Pahar Ganj. Smyle Inn #1 has superior rooms and people we met said very quiet. In any case I would stay again with no hesitation.

This hotel is in a very central part of Pahar Ganj and approx. 5mins walk from New Delhi station. The hotel is of very good standard and the rooms are very new with good amenities. It is a cheap alternative to staying at Connaught Place and definitely worth it. Two words of warning: Due to the location better bring ear plugs at it is very noisy outside and even double glazed windows can't shield off all the noise at night (but this isn't the hotel's fault). And: The hotel restaurant is not really up to standards, but there are so many close by that this shouldn't be a problem.

Having been to Delhi a few times I'd say that paharganj is about the best location to stay in for access to the sights of Delhi, the railway station and with the new airport express the airport. However it is also as traditional a backpacker area as you'll encounter and that combined with Indian hotels means that decent hotels are thin on the ground. The pearl bucks the trend. The rooms are modern and clean lots of marble. The staff are efficient and helpful without being overbearing. Its not perfect or five staff but its a very good hotel to base a busy stay in Delhi where all you want is a good room in the right location , as the hotel has limited facilities. Its on a main road so there is some noise in the rooms at the front of the hotel, although this didn't effect my nights sleep.

Great ambiance at this hostel, met lots of friends there and had some of the best time in my trip. The staff is caring and happy to share good times with you, the rooms are nice, clean and quiet. Only the travel agency inside is not the best, our bus to Rishikesh afterwards was terrible, expensive and the rickshaw who was supposed to bring us to the bus station walked us there and wanted 50 Rs.

I am a female in my 20s traveling by myself and this hotel was just great. The main bazaar where it is located is fun, close to the city centre. And while many people had recommended that I stay in Connaught Place for safety as a lone traveler, I would not hesitate to stay in Pahar Ganj again on my next trip and would have found CP annoying for all the people who try to get you to go to their shops, tourist bureaus, etc. Metropolis is clean, friendly, my room was excellent, with a small balcony, and the restaurant is top notch. It's a bit noisy at night, since many of the rooms are over the main bazaar, but everything winds down around midnight anyways.

All misgivings that build up as you are driven through crowded Pahar Ganj to the end of a lane are quickly forgotten when you enter the room (the lobby one floor down is everything they show on their website but still not much). The well appointed if small rooms have comfortable and clean beds. Chairs, a table, fridge, TV, AC, wardrobe, etc complete the room quite neatly. The comparitively large bathroom has good quality fixtures & fittings (that all work, too!) but be warned; for some strange reason, there's no place to keep your soap and shampoo next to the shower! Breakfast (included) was basic but good. The Indian selections at the restaurant / room service was average to good. All in all, a good bang for your buck/

It's nice 3 stars hotel. Best location; walking distance to metro station blue line and many nice restaurants around till late. There's night markets, Fruits Shops, Bars till late night also. Just near by hotel got tour company called VS World Travels (Mr Vinod 9910131527) He is so much helpful and arrange for us all our tour with good price i.e Agra, Delhi Tour. Also money changer/ SIM card short is just 3 mins walk. Hotel is very clean and decorated with marble floors, toiletry, coffees, water bottle all are in room. Receptionist is very helpful and giving us welcoming Tea/Coffee that is Indian Hospitality make us happy always. Room look new, good maintenance.

A real commitment to convey to guest a sense of genuine concern for their comfort and enjoyment from the endless salutations every time one passes the footman at the door, to the daily water and refreshments and friendly smiles of staff. I like this place a lot, and even if maybe slightly over the price I consider it is worth, what it offers makes up fully for that. Great AC, clean and not noisy, secure and reliable (I left baggage there for weeks with no fuss and totally safe) this is a really good home base in delhi with amazing proximity to transport and of course delightful street food and daresay the best fresh dairy products nearby ... I love my cold Indian milk (which of course is totally safe sealed packaged product from nearby dairy shop).

델리 도착한 날과 떠나는 날 1박씩 이틀 묵었습니다~ 도착한 날엔 잘 몰랐지만 다른 호텔에 묵고나니 이곳 시설과 서비스가 좋다는걸 알아서 다시 방문하였습니다~ 메인바자르에서 가깝고 쉽게 찾아갈 수 있었습니다~ 다음에도 방문할 의향이 있습니다~ I stayed at this hotel for two nights on the first day I got in India and the day I left. While traveling, I found out the facilities and the service of this hotel is nice comparing the other hotel I stayed, so I came back when I got back to Delhi. It's close to main bazar and easy to find. I will definitely come back here.

So I am a solo female traveler and there is nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable in the place you're supposed to be living, especially in a country with so many men. I tried Zostel and Backpackers Panda but had to leave each time because of how unprofessional and unsafe I felt (I wasn't the only one who felt that way too), but at Backpackers Hostel it was the exact opposite. The staff are incredibly nice and go above and beyond to make you feel at home but they also just let you be in your own space (that's important when you're sharing a room with seven other people). They have AC, clean sheets, soft pillows, hella bathrooms, tons of restaurants nearby, AND THE WIFI IS INCREDIBLY FAST!!! By the time I came to Backpackers Hostel I was finishing up my trip to India and just wanted a place to relax a bit before my flight home. I'm sad I didn't find this place sooner, but next time I'm in Delhi I'm definitely crashing here. *Also, if you needed more proof on how amazing this place is, they scheduled a taxi for me to the airport for only 400Rs. If you've ever tried to order a taxi to the airport or have someone order for you in Delhi they will almost always try to charge you in the thousands--even Uber charges you a bit more. And a tip, if you're looking for a cheap and decent restaurant nearby that won't make you sick, try Madan Cafe. I fell in love with their Fruit Muesli and Chopsuey.

Despite of some bad reviews previously,i found ,in contrary, during my 2 days stay,a reasonable fair hotel with everything you need for a short stay: roomy ,close to Delhi station & metro,food venders,travel agents,money changers...almost everything.Perharps ,it is not quite a 2 stars hotel but you can not beat the price for an ensuite with tv & free wifi anywhere near central like it.I like to mention,Chandan,the manager,who made my 2 days easy with some advices and an upgrade to a room suitable for me and also the bell boy who would do some extra works for a tips,thank you.

If you need to stay in Pahar Ganj (proximity to New Delhi Railway Station, services such as pharmacies, parcel sending, restaurants catering to foreigners, optometrists) then the Metropolis is an oasis of calm and cleanliness in a chaotic and still dirty area. Close to the metro and New Delhi Railway station, can use the Airport Metro, and close to Connaught Place. More expensive than for my usual budget, but worth it for a short stay in Delhi en route to other places, when one needs some comfort and is not up to facing the cheaper hotels. Staff very friendly and helpful, so a home away from home in Delhi.

This hotel is in a good location on one of the main streets of Pahar Ganj area, so lots of hotels & general stores in the street. Lots of tuks tuks too but be wary when your driver picks up a local fellow that strikes up a conversation with you - he will be a tout from one of the local warehouses trying to sell you something. Tell them you are not interested! My room was on the ground floor with a view of a brick wall! It seemed a bit "unfinished" with holes in the walls of the bathroom & a fridge that was not working. Otherwise the room was modern & large. Breakfast was ok but the breakfast staff need some training. Every morning you would have to ask for the same things to be replenished. They would also spend most of their time shouting across the breakfast room at each other not a nice ambience. The hotel has free wifi, an elevator, rooftop breakfast room & terrace. I will probably stay again because of the location & size of the rooms.

Best hostel to have a comfortable stay and make a lot of memories while travelling to Delhi. Everyone will treat you like family and you'll never want to leave the terrace plus the restaurant in the terrace is really good and not too expensive.Near to metro station, clean & tidy, friendly staff. Hostel also provides a lot of basic and premium facilities like laundry (on demand), luggage storage, city tours etc. Highly recommend.

We found the Jyoti Mahal very comfortable & enjoyed out short stay. The staff were extremely helpful & spoke good English, very useful as our Hindi is limited to a few essential nouns & verbs! The rooftop restaurant catered well for our needs & tea & light refreshments were served in our room by very obliging lads. We would recommend the hotel & found the area of Pahar Ganj very useful for our initial shopping before taking the train West from Delhi.

There is a patnership with a touriste tour company. Nice people but be aware of what they purpose as travels (Agra for instance). Very expensive in front of official india tours. Pahar Ganj is a very disturbing place for an european (poverty, dirty, odors). You can't do 2 meters without being disturbed by someone wanting to purpose you hotel, tour, rickshaw, food, clothes, internet... Very disturbing if it's your first time in india. It's a very interesting place to visit but maybe not for your first night/day in the country if you are alone or you will be tempted to go back Europe !).
