Recoleta hotels & places to stay

the owners would pay little more attention to what they are actually providing for clients. The building is absolutely beautiful, and in the "superior" rooms you get to stay in what I would describe an original 1920s decor with original bathroom fittings. Yes, they are worn but it does not really matter as everything in this hotel is, nevertheless, these rooms are beautiful. The sad thing is that the current owners do not realise what a true gem they have but treat this place as something barely above a hostel which probably explains the modern cheap lighting, threadbare towels and slightly questionable cleaning standards etc. The staff is nice and helpful but often quite clueless about which rooms are actually available and which are taken. With little more attention and really a minimal effort this place would be an absolute must in Buenos Aires.

the hotel staff were very friendly and spoke good english. the room was small, but clean. no frills, just a double bed and bathroom ( fantastic hot showers). the breakfast has been standard in argentina with cereal, bread, croissants (medialunas) and jam. good coffee. the recoleta is a beautiful area of buenos aires and i think this hotel is a decent value for the location.

The staff at the hotel were fab. Helped us with directions every morning as we left the hotel. One evening, there even helped us heat up some food we had brought. Special mention goes to receptionist Facundo who helped us deal with an atrocious taxi booking company who left us with the hotel and refused to take our bags. He most professionally tried to work out a solution for us even though he didnt have to since we were leaving the hotel. The breakfast each morning was good with a spread of breads, fruits, pastries, and other stuff. Rooms were big and comfortable and bathroom was good too. The wifi in the room was lousy though and i had to sit outside the room on many occassions to send messages. Lastly, the hotel is not so near the subte and you have to walk about 15 - 20 mins to the nearest station.

The hotel and staff were great! Our room was very comfortable and a nice size. The lobby was nice and we appreciated the free access to the internet available in the lobby. They also provide bathrobes in the rooms which is a nice perk. The concierge gave us a great restaurant recommendation that was within walking distance! The location to the Recoleta Cemetary and other sites is another plus.

Piccaluga Apartments are within easy walking distance of the famous cemetery, Bellas Artes Gallery and other museums and attractions in Recoleta, as well as restaurants, cafes and bars. Retiro is also within easy walking distance, together with other attractions such as the Obelisk and the Plaza Meyor. The apartments are clean and well serviced providing spacious accommodation and facilities such as crockery, cutlery, oven, hob, fridge/freezer and coffee maker. The breakfast is adequate continental style. The top floor pool is a shallow dunking pool and the sun area is small, providing two deck chairs and table/chairs with barbecue area. Be aware that any accommodation in Argentina that is pre-booked but not pre-paid may well be much more expensive when you arrive as the exchange rate changes drastically daily due to Argentina's erratic economy at present! Ours had gone up by around 33% from when we booked in October to when we got there in February. Still a great place though. But maybe pre-pay to get a better price.

In one of the beautiful historical parts of the city, on the top floor of a lovely old stone, 7 story building. It is two blocks from a subway station and close to many nice cafes and restaurants too. The boss, Hugo, is very helpful and has no problems getting around any language barrier. He recommended several restaurants and organised a taxi for me - punctual perfect - which I needed in the middle of the night.

We stayed at the Alta Piazza on 4 occasions during a 3 week holiday,using it as base from which we made several side trips around Argentina.(accommodation booked October 2015). For each short stay (1 night to 7 nights), we booked a Balcony Suite. On 3 occasions we had rooms that were similar, and 'almost' as described on the website,though the single beds in twin room(201) were very narrow (80cm by 200cm as printed on mattress), but the other features were ok. On our final stay, one of 3 nights, our Balcony suite(Room 901) was not as described by the hotel website and was in a poor state of maintenance on our arrival; air conditioner in living area not working (needed re-gassing) and not fixed until 9pm on second night of 3 night stay(outside temps in mid 30C), toilet not flushing properly was fixed same day,curtains in lounge area would not draw together properly with approx 30cm gap (staff hooked curtains together tempoarily that evening for privacy, and said issue would be fixed next day, but was not fixed or mentioned further during 3 night stay ),also curtains did not have blockout as described in room description, glass sliding door from bedroom to balcony would not lock, which was of particular concern as we are single female travelers(this was also advised to staff but not fixed during stay). There was no bath tub of any kind in this room as described(whirlpool bath),there was only 1 bathroom in this suite, not 2 as described,and as we had had in previous Balcony Suites. I requested a change of room shortly after my arrival when not happy with condition of room,but was told the hotel was fully booked, despite their website showing that rooms were still available there??? I also requested a possible refund due to not being able to use lounge room for considerable time as it was too hot(due to no aircon), and never heard anything more. Overall, a very disappointing stay to finish our amazing 3 week trip around Argentina.

Perfect location in Recoleta but not the most touristy part. Cheap cabs though to anywhere in the city you want to go for touristic attractions, shopping, restaurants, nightlife. Great for gay travelers. Great pool in the back that gets good sun and is clean and well-kept, the place felt totally safe with a 24 hour doorman at the entrance, quiet and fully equipped room, friendly staff, clean with daily maid services, internet was consistent.

We stayed for 4 nights in October 2012 and had an enjoyable time. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating especially with helping to find tours or helping with attractions, in our case they even collected a delivery to the hotel for us while we were out sightseeing! The hotel itself was in a nice part of Recoleta. Breakfast was a simple cereals ands toast affair but fine to start the day. Would recommend this to my friends.

The hotel is located next to the luxurious Avealer Palace Hotel ( looks like the Plaza Hotel in New York). This area is stunning . Like a previous review stated your staying in one of Buenos Aires upscale and beautiful areas at budget prices. Your 10 minutes to the Recoleta Cemetry, where Evita Peron is buried. Hotel Staff was very nice. Wifi was AWFUL! But otherwise an extremely enjoyable stay.

This is a jewel in Buenos Aires! Hidden in the safe, walkable district of Recoleta in BA, the HoJo is unbeatable for the great price. I don't want to write a review because we want to stay here again and don't want to let others know about this place for fear that they would then raise their prices (I hope they don't!). It's clean, sleek, perfectly located, and the staff is exceptional! Too bad that the stellar workers don't wear name tags because I wanted to commend one of them, but never knew his name. He's the evening front desk worker (not Sebastian, although they're all helpful and great). This is the best and you can't find a better place for the price!

This hotel is a perfect place for a traveller (business or pleasure) who wants a room with space (couch, breakfast table with four chairs, little kitchen). WiFi is available in the room (against a small fee) and free use of PC's are in the hall way. It is positioned at the corner of Recoleta Park with many bars and restaurants. Staff is kind and helpful. Everything is very clean. Breakfast is served in the room. This means that you do not get to meet many people in the hotel. All in all a very good place to stay.

The Bel Air is located on a side street in Recoleta, convenient to shopping on Santa Fe. The area is nice and safe, with a park nearby, and taxis are plentiful. The room is on the small side, but comfortable enough. The bathroom is bigger than expected. I would've given the hotel very high marks if the staff acted more friendly and engaging. Several times I passed by the front desk and were (not) greeted with a stern face.

Martin contacted us before we arrived via Agoda. He wanted to make sure that when we arrived that we were taken care of. The hotel was two blocks from the mall, cemetery and great restaurants. The rooms were clean and had areas to sit and watch tv as well as a kitchenette and desk area. If you have the original nespresso capsules bring them. They have a nespresso machine in the room too. The laundry room had free washer / dryer combos and free washing powder. (they take awhile and we ended up letting the clothes hang dry for a bit in the room) Everything was great but Martin’s help was above and beyond. He left hand written notes in our mailbox with ideas for the day if we were out. He made restaurant reservations and created walking maps for us. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again

This is a very small hotel with the rooms set up as ‘suites”, i.e., it is like a studio apartment with a small kitchen area. It is located in the heart of the Recoleta neighborhood and that is why I stayed there. II think that 3.5 stars would be an appropriate rating for this little hotel and that only because of its location in proximity to the cemetery, restaurants and nightlife of interest to gentlemen.

It was a very nice hotel. Lobby was beautiful. Staff friendly and went out of their way to help answer all of our questions. It was close to shopping and walking distance to some sights. The hotel is right around the corner from the famous cemetery where Eva Peron is buried. There are many restaurants in the area both high end and economy. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in Buenos Aires who wants to stay in the Recoleta area.
