Where to stay in Retiro
Retiro hotels & accommodations
In a great location for accessing all the main sites and the happy hour deals are great value, but beware. We booked and paid in full in advance thinking this would ensure the best price. It did not! The rates by the day we arrived were less than half what we paid, and we should have cancelled and rebooked to save money.
Had the best three days ever. We were only in Buenos Aires for three days and relied on the team for recommendations and arrangements. From picking us up in the airport, booking a small guided tour, best tango show and exchanging dollars at a competitive rate, there is nothing negative I have to stay. Thank you so much! I should also say that the breakfast service ...
Okay value for money. But overall bad design, LED lights over bed are extremely striking but if you off the LED, the room becomes too dark. Bath room a little too small whereas room itself have decent space and design. Air condition cannot be controlled and the room becomes very warm during winter time. I had to open the windows but you can hear noises due to echo from...
The hotel is in a good position in Retiro. The breakfast was good. The Sky Bar is excellent and was voted a Top 10 bar in BA. The pool area is quite small but there was enough space to catch a few rays. My only gripe is the 3.00pm check in. We arrived around 10.00 am after along flight from Europe and I think they could have done more to get us in our room earlier.
I will use this hotel for every connection between planes and buses in BA. A very comfortable and easy experience when passing through.
need to upgrade... but clean and kind staffs were good. The location is good to look around the city.
The hotel is in a good location, adjacent to a park and a short cab ride or 20-minute walk from Ricoletta, Puerto Madera, or the Obelisk. The rooms are minimalist modern, with plenty of space. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good, with plenty of selection. I wish I had stayed here at the start of my trip to Argentina, as opposed to anothe...
Walkable from Retiro and Madero bus stations, ferry port, and subway stations. Clean and spacious room with 24 hour building security and reception. The provisions in the rooms are minimal- we stayed for 3 nights and we’re provided two bath towels, shower gel and shampoo. Our booking provided an inaccurate address (910 instead of 920).
Good location. Many sightseeing and shopping attractions nearby. Close to transportation options- Subte, collectivo buses, Retiro station, Manuel Tienda Leon bus depot to airport (40 pesos), Puerta Madera ferries. Lots of restuarants and shopping in walking distance. Resturant get crowded at 9:00AM ; go earlier or later ( but not after 10:45.)
We booked this hotel via agoda.com The room I was given was in the front on a busy street and it was quite noisy. I called the desk and asked for a change of rooms and they said impossible. I then went back to the desk and asked again. This time I was given a bigger room with 2 beds on the side of the building which was quiet. The man working the desk seems disint...
Loved our stay here. Have stayed in a number of Four Seasons Hotels around the world. They all have great locations but this one had by far the best staff who were very warm & friendly as well as being very efficient. I highly recommend this hotel
Excelent hotel for getting to know buenos Aires. When we arrive there where no superior rooms with a king bed so we got and upgrade to a suite. It was a great room. The staff was very friendly.
I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights trip to Buenos Aires. It is well located and is only short walk from metro, Puerto Madero. There are lot of opportunities for dinner nearby. Staff is polite and speaks good English.
the hotel is located near the teatro colon ( big indoor performance theater ) which is a landmark area in buenos aires.we stayed with a happy heart as the service were great and the ambience soothing.on the outset, the hotel appears to have been renovated before but the design of the hotel and our room was great.the exception was the room is a bit small and the toiletri...
House keepers came in without knocking first. Then i went to front desk to complian and all they said was sorry ill make sure it doesnt happen again. Funny part is they never said hi to me anytime i would see them in the hallway. Is that a 5 star hotel treatment ???? I know what she was upto. They were going to steal something from me im sure. I had just arrived 2 hr...
I needed a decent hotel in the centre of Bs As close to my main appointment and close to the BuqueBus terminal as I had an early departure the next morning to Montevideo (walking distance). Good bed, bathroom and AC. All I needed. I did not use breakfast, so I cannot give my opinion on it. The neighbourhood was peaceful (used to be different 15 years ago) and shopping ...
Think I enjoy the most was the cool, dark and quiet rooms. I was able to get the best sleeps in of my trip. A little old school, but very clean and proper. I would go back. Central located, a quick walk or cab ride to all the city attractions.
We arrived at the hotel around 12 noon and were told that the check-in time is 3 PM. We did not get our room key well after 5 pm. The reception counter seemed a bit chaotic with many people waiting in line. So our first impression of the service was bad. The room keys often stopped working during our stay with no good reason and we had to go to the reception to get a n...
The Emperador Hotel is very new and well located, with a grand entry and lobby, rich woods and a lush garden ... ideal for enjoying serenity with its weeping wall in the back where water slowly cascades down, feeding a variety of plants along the way. The rooms are very well appointed, and spacious, in a city where other older hotels squeeze rooms out of corners an...
great hotel. fully equipped kitchen. great breakfast. great staff.
Great hotel, in a fantastic location in the heart of Buenos Aires. The room was huge! Excellent breakfast with lots to choose from. Very friendly staff and fast wifi. Highly recommended.
Excellent value, central area location, clean compact room with reasonable sized bathroom. With the windows closed, minimal street noise and controlled temperature. Comfortable lobby area with bar service available. Helpful staff with basic english, who are happy to organise taxis and show bookings. This was a repeat booking at Hotel Impala and I'd chose this hot...
The hotel is well located and the rooms at the front have a great view over the very wide Avenue Julio. The breakfast selection was excellent, but on a couple of occasions there were no clean tables to sit at - maybe they were a bit short staffed - it got sorted, so it's really a minor issue.
CONS: Old building Old room ugly washroom Bad view Uncomfertable mattress PROS: Amazing staff service Good location Cheap tango package (cheapest in town)
a good hotel within walking distance of all the major attractions, shopping and travel options as retiro is just 5 minutes walk away. rooms are large with fridge, hob, kettle and sink ( dishwasher!! ). breakfast is plentiful with bread/croissants, ham, cheese, cereals, yoghurt, fruit and pastries. there is a very large disco supermarket just around the corner. room...
I always try to book this hotel due to its proximity from my places of interest as well as being a value for money.
only one quick night stop, so suited the purpose. internet in your difficult
this is an excellent hotel, i really enjoy my stay at the hotel, The staff were friendly and speak perfect English, they also help us to book tickets to the Tango Show which my family enjoy a lot. The Best of all, they upgraded me to a suite room without any extra charges, i will definitely come back to stay with them when i come back to Buenos Aires.
This hotel is in a good location in Retiro and you can walk to most of the attractions around it. The staff were very competent and friendly. The room was large and comfortable. Overall a good functional hotel that is value for money if you are able to get a good deal off of Agoda.
This is a renovated building while the room is considered spacious it is noisy because sounds of the pipes and the flashing toilets and other room guests talk is highly audible in your room. The staff is rude I ordered a shuttle to the airport and the driver is early they called multiple times to urge me go while I am at the front desk on time they are not showing kin...

This is my second time staying at this hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and modern. My room was spacious, had a spare bed/sofa, and a balcony. I was actuallya surprised since my first stay was in one of the smallest rooms. I have stayed in other hotels in Buenos Aires and this is probably one of my favorites.
very friendly, nice, helpful staff. when i booked on agoda, breakfast was included in the price. but when i got the recipt, it said not included. i checked it twice. after the first stay, i was very satisfied so i booked the hotel on my return to. same thing about breakfast. it was a good breakfast buffe, 44arg.
friendly people, room ok,thank to bar services, excellent!!
Excelent hotel for getting to know buenos Aires. When we arrive there where no superior rooms with a king bed so we got and upgrade to a suite. It was a great room. The staff was very friendly.
I stayed at this hotel after a long international flight into Buenos Aires, and I had to catch another flight on the next day. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable -- exactly what I need between long flights. Breakfast was hearty. The staff was helpful to fetch a cab for me to the airport.

I was positively impressed by the Leonardo da Vinci, especially the size of the rooms. My room was actually a mini-apartment, including a tiny kitchen with a microwave oven, a two-burner stove, and a few pots, pans and dishes. I enjoy walking, and I invariably walked to and from the hotel. About 20 minutes fast walk to Florida, and as much to the church in Recolet...
It was a nice stay at this centrally located hotel. The area is a mix of residencial and commercial properties around hotel.
i stayed for one night only, arriving a lot earlier than the check-in time, however they found me a ready room and offered me to take breakfast that day. omellete was tasty, i totally recommend that to keep going during the day. you can walk to the main touristic shopping center in bsas and also to puerto madero which is one of the fanciest parts of the city and where ...

The Carles was a great find in the Recoleta district of Buenos Aires. It is a small but updated property - superior room was very spacious, very clean, and great size bathroom. The staff was very helpful - especially Latta and Fransisco. If you are a TV person, there are no English channels but the free Wi-Fi is reliable. Breakfast is good but not amazing.
