Where to stay in San Nicolas
San Nicolas hotels & accommodations
location is great, the busy and famous florida street is only a few staps away. florida metro station (they call it subte) is nearby. staffs are nice though only one person (patricio) speaks decent english he only works day shift. others are friendly, though language barrier can be quite a challenge. nice spread of continental breakfast buffet. clean rooms and bathroom...
have previously stayed at esplendor hotel and choose it for its location on sanmartin, close to florida and shopping areas. decor is chic, modern with some quirky touches. staff are extremely helpful. good restaurants are within the vicinity,i will stay there again.
The hotel is very clean, modern and spacious and in a excellent location. The building itself is beautiful and some of the original features have been maintained, such as the pretty tiling in the bar area. The restaurant is on the lower ground floor, where an excellent buffet breakfast is served; at other times an a la carte menu is offered, and the restaurant is noted...
The only problem we experienced was some sort of misunderstanding between the hotel and Agoda, so that our booking was nor recognised at fisrt; however, we were given a room without delay, while trying to find out was was wrong: luckily, everything was solved after a while and our booking (and prepayment!) was finally found. If this turns out to be just an occasional ...
The best thing of this hotel is the perfect location,. it is very easy to go everywhere. the hotel staff is very helfpful and the breakfast is ok. but the room is just so so and a little old.
The hotel is very well located near the main shopping street (Florida). The rooms are very quiet and the size is a bit small, but the prices are correct. Everything is clean. The breakfast is good(small buffet) and sometimes you have to wait for a table. The staff is helpfull. You can leave you luggage in the reception after your room check-out. It has been our 2n tim...
Our stay at Viamonte Suites was satisfactory based on the fine location and great breakfast. The room was definitely not a suite nor were any available in the hotel. Beds were good, personnel helpful and friendly, and the room was large. During the last 3 days of our 4 night stay, the air conditioner dripped (loudly) continually. We were given a bucket to catch the...
its probably was 4* hotel once upon a time,-- mid 60s-70s.. since then it was complete rattled, very poor maintenance of place, laundry was not work for a week- just close. furniture and bath has not been change since day one. aircons doent work well (change two rooms)-- with full gear still keep room at 30C (and it was not extreme hot weather). everything look old ...
Can't find any cons. I found it great value for money. All perfect, location, clean, friendly stuff. From other reviews I was not expecting much from the breakfast, but I enjoyed it was pretty good.
We picked this hotel based on other reviews and they were quite accurate; the location is good - walking distance from downtown attractions; breakfast has a great variety and the complimentary wifi is handy - although sometimes it goes off....was told best to stay at close to 2nd or 7th floor for best access; staff was friendly and speak English
Our flight to Buenos Aires was delayed. The front desk folks helped us to contact the provider for our evening tango show, since we were late for our pickup. We were able to connect & save out booking. They also provided an extension cord with adapter plugs so one of our group could operate her CPAP. Since a fire truck was blocking the street as we were leaving, t...
My negative thoughts on arrival to my room were soon put to bed by the extremely friendly and supportive staff. The location and close proximity to places of interst of sites of national importance made up for some of the tired appearances of the hotel. Any negative aspects of the hotal were more than compensated by the more positive aspects of location and friendlines...
Despite negative reports of noise, 'small' rooms and unfriendly staff that I read on the internet, my experience over six days stay was highly satisfactory. The central location is in walking distance to the Plaza de Mayo, the Florida Paseo, san Martin Plaza, Confetria Ideal/Tango venue. It is also close to the major bus line stops. Taxi services were promptly responde...
Excellent location for historical areas of Buenos Aires as well as shopping areas. The hotel was good value. Room decor a little old fashioned, but all facilities were good quality.
i had very big difficulties with the blockage of my visa card by my bank (it was done outomaticaly for my security as soon as i live my country). the staf of the hotel was very kind. they helped me by making a lot of calls for me, so the problem was sorted out and i could pay my bills. i,m very, very thankful. there is one very bright person on the reception - he ...
Found front end staff very helpful with all my requests re: restaurants to visit where to shop etc.. Would liked to have had more varety for breakfast i.e. more types of egg dishes like fried and or an omelet. Was not very happy with the tour company they used for local tours. Despite promises that they would return you to the hotel after end of tour they just dropped ...
The hotel is our favorite, because of the location and helpful staff. I am not sure if it was because of the fact that they gave Agoda a block of the worst rooms in the hotel or what, but we got two rooms on the 11th floor. We were the only two rooms booked on the 11th floor because they were still remodeling the rest of them. We heard saws and hammers from 7 am onward...
Great Location and fantastic price. The hotel is smack in the middle of the action and very unbeatable in terms of price. The downside (and this was no deal breaker for me but might be for more demanding travelers): 1. Bathrooms are small and the drain smells. Simple solution. Cover with bath mat. 2. Traffic noise is perceptible as are conversations whenev...
Rápida atención y mucha amabilidad.
Great hotel in a nice area of Buenos Aires. Would stay here again. Good info on tours and other fun things to do in the city.
This is my second time staying in this hotel. I am very surprised at their change in the restaurant. The room is very clean and their service is veyr good. I am very satisfied with their room and service. Also, their restaurant provides very good food, too. However, if they can provide internet service in the room will be better.
I reserved a room in this hotel because it was cheap. Thus I didn't expect much, but was blown away! A wonderful place in a great downtown location (and very close to Aeroparque (that's why I booked it). Staff was friendly, room was huge and beautiful, Internet worked, room was clean, had kitchenette, and great layout. Good breakfast, too. The hotel s a gem in the midd...
Very nice room, albeit a little tired in places, and a great location. A great choice of welcome drinks was provided on arrival. However we booked this hotel hoping to use the swimming pool as when we were there it was very sunny and in the late 20s. However the pool is ONLY OPEN DECEMBER TO MARCH. This is a detail we missed when reviewing the Agoda description. Howev...
This hotel has been dressed up to look like a French chateaux (a very small one) inside and they have generally done a good job of adding some atmosphere by using recycled furniture and chandeliers etc. The bathroom I had was too small to close the door while you stood at the sink but that is my only complaint. The windows are double glazed so the noise of the traffic ...
I liked their staff. At the reception they were helpfull and curteous. Arrage for shows and local tours. Give good directions. Reccomend good places to places to see and have dinner. Cafeteria staff were always at hand refilling juices, coffee, milk, and all else on the buffet tables. Hotel lobby interior was modern and airy. Had available computers and wi-fi that wo...
We really enjoyed staying is this nice and fine design hotel. We are positive about the hotel and would definitly recommend it to others. If being critical we where very disapointed the pool was closed (25degree celcius spring weather). This was not mentioned at booking and not mentioned in the guest information book. When opened is beautifull on the roof with stylisch...
Great hotel - clean, comfortable and friendly. Excellent location close to buses, metro, supermarket and easy walking distance to Florida/La Valle. Rooms have fridge, hob, kettle and sink ( dishwasher!! ). The aircon was not very efficient but we had a fan as well which we prefer anyway. We had a superior room which was at the back and quiet. Breakfast was plentif...
This well-known boutique hotel is centrally located in downtown Buenos Aires, the front desk staff are very helpful(just ask for a map of the city, which shows the location of the hotel). The Continental breakfast is reasonable, although choice is limited, and the free internet provided access to email-which was very useful as international telephone calls are expensive in...
We were so happy that we had found this hotel at a very reasonable rate. Its location is perfect. While being close to central that major sights and good restaurants are within walking distance, our room was quiet. The hotel's design carries history and taste. Our room was spacious and very clean. Staff are very friend and tried best to cater for our needs. We like it ...
Breakfast not so good, though this is common in South America
Cheap places to stay in San Nicolas
Best tour to Masaya volcano, we were there for more than an hour and saw lava gracias
Good - Location was excellent - within easy walking distance to attractions like Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, San Telmo Market, etc. Bad -The room is totally unlike what the site picture shows. It is run down, stains everywhere. The faucet could not be closed completely. The room was badly in need of a new paint job. At least there was hot water but Wi-Fi was poor and...
Location was reasonable and i liked lounge area. Staff were friendly and helpful tho some spoke no English at all, meaning communication not always easy. Beds terribly uncomfortable - like bricks. Bathroom not so clean. Staircase awkward to walk up and lift seldom operates which isnt great for luggage. Hot water took forever to work. Wouldn't recommend. But nice staff!...

I revsited it a couple of It is an old one but a good budget hotel where you pay a little more ( with shared bathroom) for a room of your own by paying a little more. It is good for those who ask for privacy and security. The first vsit was not too good as they gave me the last room on the roof top. The room did not have good security because the window could not be ...
The hostel has strict security measures; one needs to press a bell to be let in through two doors; you could take a very old lift or walk high staircases to reach the reception; then you take a lift for 2nd and third and 4th floor for your room. The lift is a museum piece and is worth your examination. Brakfast is good for offering all kinds of fruits and fruit juices. ...
The only good point about this hotel is the location, it is right in the centre of the city. However, although the bed was clean and comfortable, the rest left a lot to be desired. It had a communal fridge for guests to store perishable items in. I used it and my items were stolen. After remonstrating with the owner, who lives in room 1, he replaced them.

The hotel is well situated, hidden away on Suipacha Avenue, within comfortable walking distance of Plaza de Mayo, the Obelisco, Theatre Colon, and for those who want to shop on Florida Av. I stayed Buenos Aires for five days. The location is great. It is close to the red and blue lines transportation. Five blocks away is Plaza de la republica. The services are standard here with cheap price. I will say it better than the hostel if you do not want to interact with other travelers. Inside the room is not bad, it has a little meeting room and bed room. It i...
One major problem with the place: elevators beep every time they pass a floor. The sound carries between the floors and throughout the building. It is clearly audible also in the rooms. In the morning the beeping is almost constant. Had to use earplugs to sleep. Great location, nice and helpful staff.
The front-desk staffs are top notch! Very resourceful and accommodating fulfilled all of our requests the best that they can. I always stayed at this hotel everytime I visited B.A. Thank You!

This hotel is probably the cheapest you'll find in the very central Congreso area. The staff did not reply to e-mails sent prior to arrival, but they were very friendly in person and spoke pretty good English. We were surprised that breakfast was not included, but at AR$80 extra it's not expensive. For a couple, the beds are rather small. We found the air conditioning ...

Nice apartment close to avenue Corrientes. The space is great, there was just two of us, and Norma was fantastic! She helped with all the questions we had and organised transport for us knowing our Spanish isn't great! She was also great to advise what was nearby and keeps maps so you can get an idea of where you are, and a little starter pack to keep you going on your...

Bad, Bad, After paying for an airport pickup there was no driver and the hotel did not answer the phone. When we hired our own transportation the hotel staff was not concerned. No wash cloths in the bathroom. No money exchange. They send you into the city about 8 city blocks away to exchange money. Don't stay here it is not a good hotel.

It was one of the best and cleanest rooms that I stayed in while in South America. But the biggest flaw was the location. It may look close by to everything on a map but its located in a backstreet that is unsafe. We asked the locals if it was a safe street, they said that they avoid the area as there are alot of homeless people living in vacant apartments across the s...

More like a 4 star hotel than 5. Great value though. Good location, handy to everything. Good buffet breakfast in nice surrounds. Don't miss the restaurant "La Posada de 1820" a couple of doors away. Best steak meal we had.
