budget hostel for solo traveler”
I stayed in a Female 4-Bed Dormitory for 4 nights. Good lactation and just walk distance to tourist attractions and shopping area. It was a bit inconvenient that there is no shower basket in the bathroom. The bar was just downstairs, so it was noisy on weekend night, but they provide free earplugs. Overall is good for solo traveler with a cheap price. I suggest installing curtains between beds for a better privacy.

If you want to feel alive, stay at St. Christopher's Winston Hotel. I chose it because of it's central location + low price + restaurant and club inside but there was SO much more! People watching in the front of the hostel and from the window of my room, walking in at the end of the night to a roomful of young energy dancing in the club (we joined them for 1 dance), a nice little breakfast and ice water in the morning . . . no it doesn't have air conditioning but GET OVER IT! Get out of your comfort zone and stay here and you will feel like you are in the world's bloodstream. Also best and most helpful and warmest accommodation staff I have ever encountered.

Fantastic time”
This hostel was great! Had electronic locker system where you pick the pin code so I felt my luggage was incredibly safe. Awesome facilities, right around the corner from everything and even did a free continental breakfast which was good. The only slight downside was the room we were staying in hadn't been cleaned properly so there were remnants of other people and an old sock on the floor! The radiators were also on (in 26 degrees which we couldn't do anything about) so our room was very warm and stuffy. Other than that the bathroom and shower was lovely and we also had a balcony to smoke on. Would definitely come back and would recommend to anyone staying in Amsterdam

It’s near Amsterdam Central Station. They have the nice bar on the ground floor. Shower room has liquid soap. When I visited the hostel first time, I was difficult to find the entrance, because the bar and the hostel share a same entrance.

Great location”
It was ok. I just stayed for one night and thankfully they were fully booked for the next 2 nights I wanted and ended up, just by chance, next door to a HALF PRICE, nicer hostel with really friendly staff and great Irish pub waaaaaaaaaaay nicer for older travelers. Christopher's was great for people who go to Amsterdam , but other hotel was amazing for older, more interested in local attractions travelers.

Been coming here for almost ten years and still the best place in Amsterdam. They have refurbished, but still the same great location and friendly and helpful staff we have come to expect from this great place. Keep it up guys and I will be always coming back.

Right in center of Amsterdam short walk from railway station. Staff were great, bar and food good. Rooms were ok, small bathroom. Would be nice if kettle and coffee/tea were provided. Would stay again.

First of all the hostel is in a great location, right in the centre of Amsterdam. It is a 5 minute walk from central station, right next to the red light district. It is set in the narrow cobbled streets which are bustling with people and has a great atmosphere. There are also lots of bars, restaurants patisseries and souvenir shops on the doorstep. The hostel is attached to a bar. This is good but it can get noisy if your room is on that side of the building. They do however close the beer garden at 11 which takes care of that problem. The bar is a decent size (for an Amsterdam building). It is narrow but quite long. It does get pretty crowded though. The bar also serves breakfast and food throughout the day and as a resident of the hostel you can get discounts on food and drink. Its not very cheap but it is on par with the rest of Amsterdam. The rooms are basic and small with just a bed and a small table but fine for a hostel. I stayed in a private double with an ensuite bathroom

Situated right in the middle of everything you need in Amsterdam. Check in was quick, and lockers provided if your earlier than check in time. Rooms very clean, we were in 6th floor, no noise complaints from us! Would defo stay here again

Middle of Red light district, good price, tons of noise.”
I stayed in the hostel for four days and by the 2nd day I had enough of it. The people being loud out in the streets isn’t the worst part. The worst part is, having to deal with the great bass noise the night club makes all the way up until 4-5am. If you’re sleeping on the sections near the club, you’re screwed. Your bed and the bass will keep you up until the night club closes. I mostly got 4 hours of sleep each night. The night club starts playing drum and bass at 9pm(21hrs) and doesn’t end until 4 or 5am. If a place has to give you earplugs then you know that’s not the place you want to be in. However I was told by staff that that’s easily fixable by putting in a request with your booking to stay in the 12 person dormitory and to type “away from night club” that way you won’t have to go through issues like I did. Otherwise the place is good, clean and the staff is nice. In a convenient area if you like to party.

Abandoned house experience”
If you ever wanted to know how it is to sleep in an abandoned house this could be the right hotel/hostel for you. Al least you will get a room with non water/sound proof windows together with a non working heating system, mixed with the rainy Amsterdam Weather in October/November and temperatures of less then 4°C you feel like you're sleeping in an abandoned house. Of course, we complained about that but the answer was that this is centrally regulated and there cannot be done anything else then turning up the radiator to maximum (which stays cold at any setting). Dont get me wrong, i slept in various hotels in cambodia, vietnam, laos, thailand for less then 10$ a day but i never got an cold and wet room for over 100€ per night. The rest of the hotel (everything except the rooms) is actually very good (centrally located, late night bar and restaurant available). The only pity about the bar is that there's no Dutch beer (eg Heineken). We had the private Room.

the cleanest place in the Amsterdam Centre”
I was positively surprised how clean, and well furnished the place was. I've been into hotels where the bathroom looked far worse than this hostel bathroom. And once I've got to my breakfast, this host can compete with hotels in the area! That was a very good value for the price I've paid! I'm recommending it, hands down!

Great value for money and fantastic location”
Was really pleasantly surprised that a towel was included, along with a hairdryer and straighteners in the girls dorm. Although it was an 8 bed dorm, this was split into two (no bunk beds!) so the beds were really comfortable. Great value breakfast for just €4 and the room has everything you need. Only downside was bathroom cleanliness as the drains were a bit smelly. Also, be aware it is located on a very noisy street and people are often partying until 6am! This didn’t bother me too much for just 2 nights, but would advise bringing earplugs. However, I would definitely recommend this hostel.
